Meet our Battle of the Bands winners
You voted … and voted … and voted again over the past three weeks and now — finally! — we’re ready to announce results of our first-ever Battle of the Bands.
Throughout the contest, two bands — Western Motto and Quiet Company — consistently remained at the front of the pack. So … we’re happy to announce that BOTH groups will perform at the third annual Statesman Texas Social Media Awards on Thursday, March 10, at the new ACL Live at the Moody Theater venue in downtown Austin.
For more on the ceremony, click here. Want to attend? Unless you’ve already got tickets, you’re out of luck. Maybe next year …

I think it’s great that both bands will be able to show off their awesomeness. Music is love, not negativity.

I am glad both bands are playing too. I listened to Western Motto and they are good but I prefer QC.

I have nothing negative to say about Western Motto but to Susan and Carrie, you’ re in for a hell of a performance from Quiet Company. You might want to hear and watch them before you put them down ;-).

Zero tickets left out of a total of 700 available. Isn’t this fabulous new venue 2700 seats???? Can more space be made available on the night of the awards for those of us not lucky enough to have a reserved seat? I really would love to hear both bands in person sharing the ACL stage.

I have nothing bad to say about anyone, but how, exactly, does 63% of the vote and 29% of the vote constitute a tie by any standards? What was the point of the poll?

Stoked for both WM and QC. The former has only been together for 4 or so months so this will be a great place to debut in front of a huge crowd. Looking forward to great sounds from both.

Josh, at no point was it called a “tie.” Nor was the poll binding, I’ve forgotten the exact wording but the gist of the text on the poll was that your votes would influence the decision as to who would play. The poll never stated it would DECIDE the band(s) who would wind up playing. Reading comprehension is important, kids.
