Red Dirt Fest moved to Nutty Brown from Backyard

Precious little info to go on here (it being late on a holiday weekend when NO ONE answers phones) but I just saw that the entire lineup for Saturday’s Red Dirt Festival - topped by Cross Canadian Ragweed and including Stoney Larue, Band of Heathens, Charlie Robison, Micky & The Motorcars, Mike McClure Band, Seth James and more - has been moved to Nutty Brown Cafe from its original locale at The Backyard.

The Backyard’s website has a big “canceled” sign over a poster for the concert, but a little snooping on Twitter revealed that the lineup if not the name will stick together Saturday at the west Austin haven for country and roots rock. Absolutely no idea if tickets for the Backyard show will be honored or refunded, but anyone needing to know can try contacting Nutty Brown during the daylight hours here. And no idea how this affects the David Kyle show that had been scheduled at Nutty Brown for Saturday, but that’s a comparably smaller concern.

The recently reopened Backyard has had a shaky rebirth so far, with a host of lawsuits and logistical complaints from customers sapping attention from shows by heavies such as Bob Dylan, Sheryl Crow and more.

Update: This Facebook event listing for the new show says ticket purchasers for the Backyard show will be automatically refunded via credit card, so new tickets will have to be paid for separately.
