UT regents staying out of Cactus Cafe flap
Don’t expect the governing board of the University of Texas to get involved in the dust-up over plans to close the Cactus Cafe.
The UT System Board of Regents, which oversees UT-Austin and 14 other campuses, is meeting in Dallas today, and I asked Chairman James Huffines about the cafe.
“That’s strictly a campus decision,” he replied.

Whatever with his “campus decision” junk, when Powers is passing the buck right back at the regents by saying he’s “agreeing with higher ups decision ” to close Cactus. EVERYTHING they are cutting , faculty, cafe, STUDENT ASSITANTSHIPS is needless when they refuse to cut UTIMCO bonuses, administrative, executive or presidents salaries!!!
Need a new party in the Governor’s office to clean house in the dungeons of higher education.
