Will Sexton has minor stroke

Musician Will Sexton remains hospitalized at University Medical Center after suffering a stroke. “It was a minor stroke,” says his girlfriend, singer-songwriter Charlie Faye, “but they’ve kept him in the hospital to run some tests on why this happened age age 39.” He’s been in the hospital since Friday.

Faye says Sexton is in good spirits and feeling well. “He should be out in a couple days.”

Sexton had a gig Thursday night at the Hole In the Wall, where club booker Paul Minor said Sexton complained of a headache and had trouble with his lyrics, but otherwise performed a strong set. “You could tell he wasn’t quite himself,” Minor said.

Dang… 39. I remember when Will, as a teen, started playing around here. Pretty amazing guitarist then and now. Take care of yourself, Will…

The good ol’ Will and the Kill days. Breakin All the Rules, Restless to Reckless, and Heart of Steel. Always did like their version of All Just to Get to You. Thanks for making us all feel old now, Will! Hope there’s no lasting effects and you’re back on your feet soon.

Will is a good guy, always friendly to friends and fans alike… He’s an Austin original if anybody is. Sickness comes to us all. Nobody knows when and nobody knows how. The only thing thats for sure is it will come when its least expected and at the most inconvenient time. I wish Will a Damn Speedy recovery and hope to hear him picking and sang-n again real soon.

I still remember Will walking into the Horseshoe Lounge at the end of one night - barefoot from walking across the street. Everytime I was behind the bar, he always brought a smile to my face! I miss you Will, and here’s to a speedy recovery! Oh, and happy late birthday! ~Deb :)
