Randy Rogers Band to perform at benefit Nov. 6
Amberlynn Fett was six weeks old when she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Now 20, she’s currently at Dell Children’s Hospital awaiting a double lung transplant. To raise money for medication and other costs not covered by insurance, the Randy Rogers Band will host “My Breath of Life Concert” Friday Nov. 6 at the Nutty Brown Cafe (12225 W. Hwy 290).
“Amberlynn has never asked us to do a benefit,” said Rogers, who met Fett in August when Nutty Brown Cafe owner Mike Farr brought her backstage after a RRB set. “But I feel that getting to know her has been a blessing. She has every reason to feel sorry for herself, but instead she’s this big ball of positive energy and love.”
Fett is currently in critical condition as she awaits a lung donor. “Everyone should be an organ donor,” says Rogers. “When you get your driver’s license, check that box.”
Cover is $15. Showtime is at 7 p.m., but come earlier to bid on silent auction items donated by George Strait and others.
