Zilker Park closed until the end of the month
Jay Janner AMERICAN-STATESMAN
The city had a press conference today to expand on what happens next to clean up the mud generated by rain at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. The sludge will be hosed into “silt fences.” They also said there are no health dangers associated with Dillo Dirt, used in the recent $2.5 million improvements made to the lawn (paid for by fest promoters C3 Presents, who also will pay for any damages to the “Great Lawn”).
More details from today’s conference on our news site.

I’m guessing about a $20 increase in ticket prices for next year to pay for the damage.

Okay, so it rained and the field got muddy but for the most part it was a great fest. Friday showed just exactly how the new grass was supposed to benefit the concert goers by reducing the dust and making it more comfortable to wander the park or plop down and have a seat. If not for the untimely rain the rest of the weekend would have been just as great but for now…..I need new running shoes. We’ll be back next year and here’s mud in your eye!

It was obvious that even a little dirt wasn’t enough to stop serious music lovers from coming to ACL!

I had fun. But just for the record, I do have a rash. Not serious I’m sure, but interesting nonetheless.

Folks, the City of Austin paid for the grass.
Why does every news source continue to give credit (and it always reads like a defense of) C3 as having paid for the $2.5 million in improvements?
add a http:// and a www. to what’s below ci.austin.tx.us/parks/psazilker.htm
This is just one of two city documents I found stating that C3 will reimburse the city of Austin for the $2.5 mil in improvements.
This is a major mistake in the details of your reporting.
