Umbrellas - yes you can

No reason to panic, festival-goers. With rain looming in the weekend forecast, there seems to be some confusion about umbrellas. Bottom line: Small, handheld umbrellas are just fine, organizers say. But leave the large golf umbrellas at home. If it can fit in your bag, you should be fine.

Which is better- a blanket or bringing chairs? Anyone able to offer some experience here?

Blanket is better if it’s dry. Easy to carry in a backpack plus when you lay it out people are good about leaving you your space. However, with the rain and wet ground all bets are off!

By OUR way!

Depends on what kind of experience you are looking for. To chill in the chair zones while taking in the sights or camping out up close to join the masses at showtime. Carrying the chairs is a pain and you can’t get as close with them, you may have to stand during the show even with chairs…to me they’re more of a burden and I take a towel to sit on. I have both “sitting friends” and “walking buddies”, make a selection based on the experience you want at ACL and roll with it.

I wish it would rain. A rainy night in Georga (Austin). Baby the rain must fall. Blue eyes cryin’ in the rain. Come back when it aint rainin’. Fool in the rain. Have you ever seen the rain? Let it rain. Like the rain. McAuther Park (someone left the cake out in the rain). Rain (when the rain comes, they run and hide their heads). How high’s the water Moma? Two feet high and risng. Thank you ACL, we needed the rain.

I read that there is a free “Chair Check” so if you bring chairs but don’t want to lug them around, you can drop them off there!

“Which is better, a blanket or bringing chairs?” In wet weather the blanket will soon become muddy and disgusting. Even a folding chair weighs you down and makes you less mobile. I suggest stimulants and never sitting or even standing still. Boogie all night long.

Letting people bring umbrellas in is a stupid idea.
