OK, ACL and the after shows sound great, but what’s in this for KLRU as it appears to be struggling financially? What’s the deal between C-3 and KLRU? Is KLRU being given a fair cut or is KLRU being taken to the cleaners? Given us some answers, please!

What about KLRU$- KLRU receives a licensing fee from ACL Fest for use of the name “Austin City Limits.” In year one it was just over $100,000. The fee is no longer made public. That’s really the only connection between KLRU and C3 Presents, though for five years, ending last year, C3 (as Capital Sports & Entertainment) was the TV show’s executive producer.

Get ACLfest out of here. It is old hat. I’m not making a dime off of it and it clogs and pollutes the city I live and pay taxes in.

Negativity clogs and pollutes the city, smart guy. Why not consider how much money is brought INTO the city from travelers attending ACL and how that positively impacts the city, not to mention your tax rate?

OK Joe, how much money have you personally made from ACLfest? I’m in business in Austin and I don’t make squat from it. But, I pay for the facilitites through my property taxes. Move it out of here or pay up COA!

I actually considered going to see Dan Auerbach, but after going into the presale and seeing a seven dollar service charge I thought otherwise. I remember one of C3’s goals was to limit service charges, but I guess charges like that happen when they don’t even allow will call to be an option for the show.

Wow, Mr. “I make no money from ACL Fest therefore it sucks”. I guess it doesn’t matter who else makes money, including the parks department and tons of local businesses because as long as YOU don’t then to hell with it all, right? Do you like living in the Live Music Capital of the World? Sounds like you should be in Dallas instead.

Wow! Someone living in Austin that hates music? I travel out there each year and spend my money in your beautiful and vibrant City. What type of business do you have that isn’t benefitting from visitors from around the country, world-famous musicians and the national press? Maybe you also want to change the slogan to, “Keep Austin boring.”
