ACL Fest tix on sale now!
Go here to purchase three day passes for $160 to the Oct. 2- 4 event. The price jumps to $185 when the first tier advance allotment sells out. Organizers would not say how many tix they’ve set aside for $160.
Last year’s top price for three-day passes was $170. They sold out more than a month before the fest.
Zilker Park capacity is 65,000 per day. The lineup of 130 acts won’t be announced until April 28, though some of the bigger names- neither confirmed nor denied by ACL- being floated around are Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Dave Matthews Band and Kings of Leon.

Jeeze… tickets should be max $20/da. $60 for 3 days. OK… with inflation, let’s add a few bucks: $75/3 days. This is getting ridiculous. What is it these glam-acts don’t get about todays economics? What is that the management companies don’t get? These folks are like parasites! The are not important nor needed. They entertain and are merely a memory. Nothing substantial…

It’s kinda absurd that the price of a three-day ACL pass is $35 buck more than a four-day SXSW Wristband (for locals).

Would you all just do the rest of Austin one little favor? Don’t drink all day and think you’re capable of driving. That would be awesome! kthxbai

I take it that ACL has done away with the early bird discount tickets? A $15 discount for first tier tickets is a joke. I used to buy pre-lineup tickets but it just isn’t worth it anymore, especially when you factor in Front Gate Tickets outrageous ‘convenience’ fees and delivery charge to mail a ticket via UPS to a destination that’s less than one mile from their office on S. Congress Ave.

The residents of Barton Hills and Barton Heights propose that ACLfest should permanently move to the ExpoCenter. Save historic Barton Springs and Zilker Park. The ACL festival ruins the park’s native landscape and pollutes the springs. Stop it now!

For all you haters, just don’t go. It will sell out with or without you. Do you know what Coachella tickets cost for 3 days? Over twice what ACL charges, and you are stuck in the middle of the desert. ACL, within walking distance to one of America’s premier cities, LOVES IT !!!

This soulless & limp music festival should be relocated to the Travis County Expo Center.

Pearl Jam? Really? That’s like the 9th time ACL has “rumored” they will perform. Only yankees and californians attend any way.

YES! Give our company tons of money to use your own beautiful public park that we’ve fenced off since December! If you are important enough, we’ll give you a VIP pass as a kickback if you can help us keep profiting off the city.

SXSW AND ACL ARE NOT FOR LOCALS !!!!!!!!! When will we all understand that these festivals are for out of towners just like every other festival in U.S.A. People from L.A cant afford Coachella just like like locals from TN cant afford Bannaroo and Illinions residents cant afford Lollapalooza

I bought my earlybird ticket for $135.00; Three days of music is well worth the money. That’s why I love Austin! As far as Barton Hills and Barton Heights residents, move it you don’t like it! Your probably getting too old to live in Austin if you keep nagging about music festivals.

That’s why I have a good time at ACL, all the cheap-angry-old-***** are at home. FYI, this festival brings in tons of money for the local community.

Sounds great! Lollapalooza ‘92 in 2009! A headfull of dustmites and allergies. High school kids with 70’s hair, cellphones and oversized sunglasses smoking pot. A crowded, constant ocean of swirling people - the horizontal equivalent of vertigo. Scorching sun. A make-up tent where kids enter looking like Hanna Montana and emerge resembling Any Winehouse after a drug-fueled holiday in Cambodia! Brought to you by large corporations with their names on each stage! I’ve gone every year and last year was the last one. Someone, please take my place…
All your seasick sailors, they’re all rowing home. Your empty-handed army is all going home. Your lover who just walked out the door, has taken all his blankets from the floor. The carpet too is moving under you, and it’s all over now, baby blue.

The $160 3-day passes are now gone (they sold out in just a few hours), you can still buy 3-day passes for $185

I CAN NOT AFFORD ACL passes for $185.
The tickets get more and more expensive every year. When I first attended ACL it was only $120 for 3 days and I’ve only lived in Austin for a few years.
I guess I’ll just pay my rent instead and listen for the echo from my North Campus apartment. Considering last year’s expensive disappoiting festival lineup I might just be better off.
YOU SUCK ACL!

Oh, shut up. If you don’t like it… DON’T GO! Who gives a **** if kids with “70’s hair, big sunglasses, smoking pot” enjoy it! I’d rather be with them than your grouchy *** any day.

Who wants to spend all that money rubbing A**holes to elbows with all those people? I expected this festival to fail sooner with all the price increases, with no real additional benefits added. Thats the kicker - what do I get for $160-$185. And remember anyone who attends the festival who shelled out that much money has only provided the incentive mechanism for the increases to continue by C3. Dont pay the price = knowone attends= lower prices. It is really that simple.

My girl and I are coming from out of town. We’ve wanted to visit Austin for a while and ACL provided the impetus we needed, at the right moment. We’re staying for week, not just for the fest. We’ll be pumping our money into the pockets of restaurants, shops, bars, and whatever else we may stumble upon. Can’t wait to explore and find the Austin that a lot of festival goers miss.

What most upsetting from my perspective is that ticket prices have risen, but no added value? It’s the same festival each year; I have attended all but the first ACLfest. Nothing has been done to make the festival more desirable to attend. The crowds are horrible. If anything, raise the price and not let so many people into the park. Remember, the consumer dictates the price. The event sells out each year early. What’s the incentive to keep the tickets reasonably priced when they know this will happen? If people refused to pay the price, the festival would either cease to exist or the ticket price would be reduced. You have the POWER. Vote with your wallet! By the way, I can easily afford the highest level priced tickets but am tired of the gouging, so this year I’ll be on the sidelines. Just my two cents about it all.

I live in New Orleans. I have been watching and thinking of coming to the Fest in Austin for some time. Jazz fest is going on right now and, for $40 per day, one can see some of the best talent on the planet. The Austin festival sounds a bit pricey.
