SXSW begats new Eastside Fest?
The allnight party at the IONA Compound at 701 Tillery St., which didn’t end until 7 a.m. March 21, was such a blast that organizers are planning another blowout in June.
Working title is the East Side Escape Fest. Could this be another annual festival in Austin, with other venues east of I-35 getting involved?

Michael,
I don’t think the fringe festival that has evolved is restricted to the East side of IH 35, although I helped bring the Levi’s Fader Fort to E. 5th and Waller.
I had only one client in the official “transportation control zone” that the City sets up.
Here’s a map of just my client’s venues for 2009. There are many more, all over town, on the “fringe”:

That previous post is only in reference to the city-wide, Spring Break, SxSW timed, fringe festivals.
June will be hot. That’s another reason SxSW clicks along so well … too dang cold, at the beach. Just right, in Austin.
