Jessefest: A special night

It’ll be an incredible gathering of musicianship and cameraderie Thursday at Antone’s when Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Butch Hancock, Terry Allen, Double Trouble, Texana Dames, Reckless Kelly and more perform in honor of the late great Jesse ‘Guitar’ Taylor. A big-hearted bear of a man, Taylor became known as a monster guitarist in Joe Ely’s band from 1975- 1982. He also initiated live music at Stubb’s original BBQ joint in Lubbock. Read more about him here.

A suggested donation of $20.00 will go to the newly created ‘Jesse Taylor Fund,’ which is targeted for helping musicians and their families in times of medical need.

A victim of the ravages of hepatitis-C, Taylor passed away in March 2006.

If I could, I surely would be there, in a heartbeat…as I can’t, is there a link so I can donate online?

Thanks! Cg
