The Aussies are coming (and more SXSW announcements)

According to an article published in the Sydney Daily Telegraph last Friday, as many as 50 Aussie bands might be preparing to make the long trek to the South By Southwest Music Festival this March.
Seattle indie band Throw Me the Statue, New York rock band Suicidal Poets (who sent us a photo for our gallery), as well as St. Louis rock bands Riddle of Steel and Shame Club have also announced plans to play the fest. Canada will have a strong contingency down here, including The Weakerthans from Winnipeg and British Sea Power joins the roster of Brits heading to the fest. As always, you can expect some comedians down for the fest, including New York’s Eugene Mirman. Check back here for regular updates.
We’ve been collecting pictures of artists planning to hit our town this spring in our SXSW preview gallery. Is your band playing SXSW? Send us a picture and details on your showcase and let us introduce your band to Austin.
