Brits going all out at SXSW
A British Embassy is coming to downtown Austin, as the Latitude 30 club at 512 San Jacinto St. will be transformed into the British Music Embassy during South By Southwest. The expanded U.K. presence will kick off at the British BBQ at Brush Square on March 13. This annual event is where we first caught Amy Winehouse in action at last year’s SXSW.
Who will be the diva du jour at this year’s SXSW? Smart money’s on Adele, a sultry-voiced 19-year-old, or Welsh soul singer Duffy, “the new Dusty Springfield,” though there’s been no official announcement yet.
