More on Gary Primich
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office has yet to release a cause of death pending toxicology tests, but Gary Primich’s ex-wife Tina Rosenzwieg, who found the body, said a drug overdose is suspected. Primich friend Mark Rubin wrote on his blog yesterday that Primich had been dogsitting for Rosenzwieg over the weekend and she came home Monday morning and found Primich.
Rubin also had a lot of great things to say about Primich the man and Primich the harp master.

I’m a little older than Gary and a little younger than another fulltime musician friend. They have the toughest job in the world, bringing joy to us who need it. I couldn’t do it, and I will never pass judgement on anyone who died while trying. Austin will miss you and forgive you, if you need forgiveness. I don’t think you do. Check you later man.

Making a profession out of playing the blues must wear something inside thin. No matter how excellent one is at show casing their talents, they know ther’s a long tough road still ahead, and probably a lonely one too. Paul Butterfield: another top shelf harp player fell prey to loath and drugs. These cats, God love em, I know I do. RIP Gary.

I knew Gary well in B-ton. He had his degree in feakin’s Library Science! Used to see him working at the IU Library all the time. We used to jam at his crib. What a sweetheart. His musical thing grew and grew. What a tragic loss!

RUIN OF FAITH This business is present to take us out and down to where our souls flicker in the dusk in order to light or forever dain the dark mask of death.
Fate called once at me and will certainly call again, and I take it in time, as though my own hand did invite this …….. as surely as did my fathers genes invite this trouble that came before me.
It is when death stalks my friends that I take it wrong and to heart ….. as a taunt. To which I fail with every step that was taken as well as not taken in the past ……………. and when death takes all that is and all the will be, away.
My anger is my failure.
That this ruin of faith can be cheated even a little small bit with a recording, will have to do.
