Doug Sahm needs a statue on Town Lake!
Do you have a celebrity crush you’re willing to reveal?
No.

Amen to the statue of Doug Sahm! While others are showered with accolades and tributes Doug just rocks on as he did in life. Probably the most influential musician in Texas Doug is often overlooked, everybody knows and pays tribute to Bob Wills, SRV, & Buddy Holly and of course Willie, but who remembers Doug? Where is his museum/statue/park? For decades Doug made industry leading music, from faux British rock to good old Texas rock and roll. Doug could play anything, as one of the Tornadoes said, “The only gringo who can play a bajo sexto!” It’s time we acknowledge one of Texas’s greatest treasures.
