Summer NAMM comes to Austin
The powerful music industry trade organization NAMM, known at one time as the National Association of Music Merchants and now formally called The International Music Products Association, is holding “Summer NAMM” at the Austin Convention Center July 27 to 29.
The industry-only event gathers music retailers and suppliers from around the national and the world. It’s a bit like South by Southwest without all the bands and a lot more trade show, along with discussions of consumer and lifestyle trends, innovations, business tactics and product launches.
As part of Summer NAMM, Emo’s hosts “TexasJam - Kids That Wail,” a battle of the teen bands from 2 to 5 p.m. July 28. Eight finalist bands will be battling for the winning title and music product prizes.
NAMM is composed of approximately 9,000 member companies from 85 countries worldwide. Check out the organization’s FAQ for more information.
