Hola a todos! No sé por dónde empezar, pero esperamos que este www.austin360.com será útil para mÃ.
SRV would headline and be proud to.
The talent gets more diluted every single year (and more expensive)
To those that can’t wait to go - enjoy the Dillo Dirt and its dusty byproduct (tastes delicious with your Mighty Cone), the long lines for food, the horrible sight lines EVEN FOR THE TV MONITORS!!, the few REALLY GOOD acts, the following week spending time blowing dirt from your sinuses, the long bus lines out of the park - what a bargain at only $200 a head…!
All in all, I have come to the conclusion that ACL Festival is primarily a “tourist festival” catering to out of towners looking to experience the “Austin vibe”….
If more people were here that were around during the RiverFest days down at Auditorium Shores back in the 80’s and 90’s and the like, more people would truly know what a let down this ACL Festival has become to those of us that truly “know better”….. No brag, just fact…..
Stevie Ray Vaughan would be DISGUSTED at what this thing has evolved into…..!
Who cares. It’s all about money. The acts aren’t that good anyway. Bring back the60’s and early 70’s.
AHHH! HEY SO CALLED “ROCK N ROLL” BLOGGER, YOU SOUND LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN ON THE “BITTER BUS” WAY TOO LONG. LIKE MAYBE YOU ARE CRAVING TALENT AND HAVE NONE. YOU CAN STAY AT HOME AND WEEP WHILE THOSE OF US WHO LOOK FORWARD TO THIS LIVE LIFE! SO SAD FOR YOU. MAYBE YOU SHOULD GET A THERAPIST! YOU POOR WANNABE AND NEVER WILL BE.
Funny..I don’t remember my Mother-In-Law’s place in Rockaway looking anything like this!
;)
Of COURSE the 3 day passes are sold out!!!
They make more money on the day passes. Have they done this before? Of COURSE they have!
Do you really think it has to do with bringing entertainment to Austin? It’s all about money and who is let in to take a bite of it.
And every year, aching throngs of wnannabe music stars relocate to the “Live Music Capitol” to get their “change” at stardom…
Naw, I’m not disillusioned, just disgusted over the short termed prostitution of one of the shining stars that made Austin a great place to live.
Austin is (or has), become the marketing gimmick for circle-jerk hipsters.
Hogwash! I sctratched off at least two official lotto tickets w/ Bon Iver on them.
Hogwash! I scratched off at least two official lotto tickets on Saturday that said Bon Iver.
Not bad, but not worth $200. Maybe a single day ticket if several acts I want to hear are on the same day.
Strong strong line up, very happy to see this.
Jlat123, thanks for keeping the trend of rants alive. You will stand on your lawn and yell at the sky, but this event will still sell out and thousands will have a great day in the park.
Cheers mate.
What a lame, lame line-up! Every year less and less…. Old and “B” rated acts and then they try and tell us how lucky we are??!!…. You have to be kidding me??? The locals have started to stay away in droves from this yearly amateur event and luckily there are many more professionally run festivals that the serious and educated music fans of Austin can go to see…. I am sure I will get many responses from the so called “hipsters” that think I’m wrong but spend your hard earned money as you wish but my money will never go to a lame line up like this and there are plenty that agree with me that have great music taste….
what happened to bon iver?
there are several absolutely brilliant acts on this list already. if you don’t know esperanza, LP, alabama shakes, bon iver, and punch brothers, you are in for a treat!
Wow, the Black Keys…And those eight other guys?…
what is this **** lineup!!
austin360 has so many pop up ads, etc., it keeps crashing or freezing up or else is very slow to load. i’m about to give up on this site.
Jack White is playing ACL. That is for sure. He is trying to book a gig in Dallas the night before his ACL set.
Willie what a great song! I love your music! I’m going to buy the new CD tomorrow. I cant what to hear the rest of it. Keep up the great music. Thanks so much your friend in Connecticut Donna Zannini
RHCP rescheduled their March concert date in San Antonio to September 29. They’ll be in the area at ACL time…
