The M.O.
Born in Austin, Matthew left soon thereafter and finally made it back after years of paying his penance wandering the earth. Before coming to Austin360, Matthew co-edited Austinist.com, worked as an advertising copywriter and led tours of the Roman Forum, among other things.
When not busy pounding away on his keyboard, he can be found at book readings, concerts, gelaterias, pizza joints, Barton Springs, movie theaters, the golf course, or home with a book. The M.O. gives readers a little insight into the world of this man without a plan.

Uh, oh … uh, oh, uh, oh, uh, oh, uh, oh, uh, oh … here comes The Hammer.
Apparently Stanley Burrell really is too legit to quit. It’s been years since Hammer dropped the “MC” or had a hit in the music business, but he has not left the entertainment world.
Hammer was at the UFC fight at the Erwin Center Wednesday night in his role as CEO of Alchemist Management, a promotions and marketing company that also represents 14 fighters, according to my colleague Cedric Golden, who talked to the 80s icon last night.
In addition to management, Alchemist also has a clothing line that debuted this week when Middleweight fighter Nate Marquardt wore an Alchemist shirt to the ring. Unfortunately he was not wearing “Hammer pants.”
Now if we could just get Hammer and Ed Hardy in the octagon.
