The M.O.
Born in Austin, Matthew left soon thereafter and finally made it back after years of paying his penance wandering the earth. Before coming to Austin360, Matthew co-edited Austinist.com, worked as an advertising copywriter and led tours of the Roman Forum, among other things.
When not busy pounding away on his keyboard, he can be found at book readings, concerts, gelaterias, pizza joints, Barton Springs, movie theaters, the golf course, or home with a book. The M.O. gives readers a little insight into the world of this man without a plan.

Beloved Austin home of round-the-clock eats,
Kerbey Lane Cafe announced yesterday on
their Twitter that they will be opening a fifth location in Southwest Austin. They said that more details are to come, but I have been told by a Kerbey Lane insider that the restaurant will occupy the building that once housed Dimassi’s Mediterranean Buffet at 4301 W. William Cannon Drive. My source tells me that management hopes the restaurant will be opened by August at the latest.

That is one of those cursed spots - hopefully Kerbey Lane will stick. It seems that after ignoring SW Austin for a decade, all of the Austin chains are finally realizing how underdeveloped the food scene is in heavily populated SW Austin. Now P. Terry’s, Torchy’s, Chuy’s, Kerbey Lane, Five Guys, and Mandola’s will all be on that intersection.
