Born in Austin, Matthew left soon thereafter and finally made it back after years of paying his penance wandering the earth. Before coming to Austin360, Matthew co-edited Austinist.com, worked as an advertising copywriter and led tours of the Roman Forum, among other things.
When not busy pounding away on his keyboard, he can be found at book readings, concerts, gelaterias, pizza joints, Barton Springs, movie theaters, the golf course, or home with a book. The M.O. gives readers a little insight into the world of this man without a plan.

We recently featured a “hot or not”-style poll in which Austin360 readers voted for their favorite pizza. While this was not an “official” contest, the “winner” may have come as a surprise to some. Opened in August, Promise Pizza has shown a steadfast commitment to quality and eco-conscious behavior, offering not only organic and natural ingredients but also delivering pizza in Smart Cars and adhering to strict environmental standards in the building housing the restaurant. Promise, located in Round Rock, boasts homemade organic dough and sauce on 10 specialty pies, and with more than 20 ingredients from which to choose — including vegan and gluten-free options — the combinations seem endless and, according to our readers, delicious.
