The M.O.
Born in Austin, Matthew left soon thereafter and finally made it back after years of paying his penance wandering the earth. Before coming to Austin360, Matthew co-edited Austinist.com, worked as an advertising copywriter and led tours of the Roman Forum, among other things.
When not busy pounding away on his keyboard, he can be found at book readings, concerts, gelaterias, pizza joints, Barton Springs, movie theaters, the golf course, or home with a book. The M.O. gives readers a little insight into the world of this man without a plan.

As part of the 15th Annual Republic of Texas Biker Rally, motorcycle daredevil Robbie Knievel will kick off his farewell tour with a jump over 180 feet of Budweiser trucks on Congress Avenue in front of the Texas Capitol.
Knievel’s jump, his first since last New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas, will utilize a 1,000-foot ramp, according to Denise Garcia at the ROT.
The son of the legendary Evel Knievel will perform his airborne spectacle at 11 p.m. on Friday, June 12.

Well, maybe he’s a superhero! There seemed to be some confusion on that point, Jeff. But I side with you and have changed it.

If his brains are splattered all over Congress Ave, does the city taxpayers have to pay for his lifeflight to the morgue? While he’s jumping I’m going to be down on 6th Street checking out the biker babes going topless…yeah baby!

It is only befitting that Knievel should perform in front of the granite tent for greatest show on earth. Do you think we’ll still be a member of the union by June 12th?
The crowd will already be hogwild prior to the jump. How exciting!

How long will they have to close a section of downtown for that madness? I’m sure it will have all the high brow entertainment of a monster truck rally or WWE…..

America needs more heroes and role models like Evel and Robbie Knievel. Certainly more than the usual crowd of rappers and hollywood class-C celebs.
