Born in Austin, Matthew left soon thereafter and finally made it back after years of paying his penance wandering the earth. Before coming to Austin360, Matthew co-edited Austinist.com, worked as an advertising copywriter and led tours of the Roman Forum, among other things.
When not busy pounding away on his keyboard, he can be found at book readings, concerts, gelaterias, pizza joints, Barton Springs, movie theaters, the golf course, or home with a book. The M.O. gives readers a little insight into the world of this man without a plan.

The trailer for Oliver Stone’s new film “W.” has hit the Internets. I am sure the White House and Republicans in general will be thrilled at the depiction of the 43rd president. From the trailer it seems as if Stone will portray the former Texas governor as a rudderless young man hooked on booze, women and general good-timin’ who failed his way upwards, disappointing his family at every turn before finally getting his act together and ascending to the nation’s highest office. Sounds like one of those it-would-be-funny-if-it-wasn’t-true type stories.

No one is going to watch this. The Bush lovers will boycott something so hateful. And who among the Bush haters are going to sit through 2-3 hours watching a guy they hate? And the rest of us understands the name Oliver Stone means politics, hate and misinformation…meaning we will be watching Batman.
Of course people will watch it. After all you have t.v. program showing how idiotic he is. And people seem to love it, because it hasn’t been cancelled. People love morons? Where are the three stooges when you really need them. He could had a perfect job after the white house.
