The M.O.
Born in Austin, Matthew left soon thereafter and finally made it back after years of paying his penance wandering the earth. Before coming to Austin360, Matthew co-edited Austinist.com, worked as an advertising copywriter and led tours of the Roman Forum, among other things.
When not busy pounding away on his keyboard, he can be found at book readings, concerts, gelaterias, pizza joints, Barton Springs, movie theaters, the golf course, or home with a book. The M.O. gives readers a little insight into the world of this man without a plan.

What happens if you throw a write-in contest for guiltiest pleasure and nobody responds? Does it mean nobody has a guilty pleasure? Or is it that people are equally ashamed as they are guilty and chose not to out themselves? Or maybe, nobody feels guilt about those things in which they take pleasure. The possibilities are endless.
Whatever the reasoning, such was the case with the Your A-List poll for Best Guilty Pleasure. Regardless of whether you want to admit it or not, just keep on doing what you’re doing, Austin. We won’t judge. We won’t even snicker.

I vote for ICE CREAM as my guilty pleasure. Until something else gets TWO votes I think it should win. Why? Here, let’s see.
For one, ice cream isn’t very good for you (well most of it anyway). Case in point, tonight on the Biggest Loser the blue team loaded the black team up with cartons of ICE CREAM because they wanted to win the challenge (the challenge was to give the other team a lot of calories). Anyway the black team basically won.
I also vote for the Biggest Loser.

I like schadenfreude. Does that count?
