Born in Austin, Matthew left soon thereafter and finally made it back after years of paying his penance wandering the earth. Before coming to Austin360, Matthew co-edited Austinist.com, worked as an advertising copywriter and led tours of the Roman Forum, among other things.
When not busy pounding away on his keyboard, he can be found at book readings, concerts, gelaterias, pizza joints, Barton Springs, movie theaters, the golf course, or home with a book. The M.O. gives readers a little insight into the world of this man without a plan.

As with most major cities in the country, when you turn on the TV in Austin, you have plenty of sources for local news. Despite the choices on each station, it is clear, that with 40 percent of the vote, when you want local televised news, you want Your A-List poll winner for Best TV Newscast, KVUE.
The ABC-affiliate in Austin has long been the top-rated newscast in Central Texas. Among Austin anchor duos, Christine Haas and Tyler Sieswerda aren’t the longest-running team, but they’ve certainly caught on with viewers. Add to that station owner Belo’s reputation for top-notch news, popular music-loving meteorologist Mark Murray and veteran sportscaster Mike Barnes, and you’ve got a winner.
