‘I’ll apologize, but I won’t take off my sunglasses’

Oh, the teenage years — you think you know everything, you have respect for almost nobody and the world is your oyster, or your toilet, depending on how you look at it. I once posited that all teens should all be sent to an island for those years between 13-19 and made to hash it out a la “Lord of the Flies.” Of course, I am painting with broad strokes here, and I, of course, was a bit of a horror then, as I can still be now. But you get the point. Teenagers test parents’ and sometimes communities’ nerves to no end. And, apparently, there are teens down under who are as brazen and self-absorbed as the ones here in the States. Actually, there is a brash arrogance and glibness displayed in this video that I don’t think even the most spoiled and hubris-enriched American kid could pull off.

Check out this video from a newsmagazine show in Australia in which the anchor berates an obnoxious teen in hopes of getting the unrepentant youth to apologize for throwing an epic party that led to tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage. It’s like Jeff Spicoli meets a drunk reality TV ‘star.’ In fact, I am still having trouble believing this is real. Party on, Corey. (And, yes, I realize this has been floating around the interdigitubes for a while, but I could not pass up the post for those of you who, like me, are a little slow on the uptake.)

Shirtless, but with a winter parka? Dude’s straight out of Thunderdome. Bro-hams rejoice the world over.

If asked “who is the person you’d most like to meet” I’d forgo Jesus, Einstein and Springsteen for this dude; every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Just ok for me, until the end, when she suggests he take a good, hard look at himself and he says “I have, everyone has, they love it.” Good stuff. I love it.

This should be shown to everyone thinking of having children. Hilarious.
