The final word on ‘The Bachelor’
Following a night in which he rejected both of the two finalists on “The Bachelor,” rumors were running rampant that Bachelor Brad Womack had something up his sleeve for the “After the Final Rose” episode. Would he propose to a woman whom he had previously vanquished during the show? Would he reconsider his dismissal of DeAnna or Jenni and offer one of them, if not a ring, an opportunity to date him? Had he already gotten engaged to another woman altogether? As it turns out, the answer is none of the above.
On last night’s speical episode, Brad met face-to-face with the final two women from the show, and attempted to answer their questions amid a crowd of women who could simply not believe that Brad had the gall to break both DeAnna’s and Jenni’s hearts, nevermind the fact that he wasn’t in love with them. The show offered nothing new, just another attempt to draw ratings and the irrational ire of both of the women and the pathetic studio audience, which was obviously trying to live the fairytale romance vicariously through the contestants.
After the producers trotted out the two (relatively) successful relationships born from ‘The Bachelor’ over the past eight seasons — an obvious attempt at trying to convince viewers that the show really did help people find true love — Womack was basically left to try and explain to the women why he didn’t fall in love with them. Awkward. Sure, he may have been flirtatious during the episodes and he did make an attempt at putting himself in a position to fall in love with one of these women, but it just didn’t happen. Now, if we could just all drop it. But before we do, what say you Austin?

Wow. Brad has some serious explaining to do. Not to us, to his heart. I always say lead with your heart and you’ll never go wrong. I could see the chemistry with Jen and then with Deanna it was just that comfortable feeling like she would be a safe bet. Both = relationship. It may depend on how serious Mr. Brad is about wanting forever. Forever is a long time. The fear in his eyes was evident. I feel sorry for Brad and hope that he opens his heart to find whatever it is he is searching for. I hope that he is honest with himself first and truly loves himself as a whole person. Not a bar/restaurant owner and ‘wanted man’ of many women who frequent his establishments and find his charm, looks and wealth hot. Let’s face it, many women must flaunt themselves over him night after night. That is the life of a bar owner in deed, however if his passion is work he will never find passion past work. Work/Life balance is so hard for some to find as is letting go of the fear of the unknown ‘feelings’ of forever.
