Kicker Hunter Lawrence has signed a two-year, free-agent contract with Tampa Bay.
He’ll be leaving Thursday to attend the team’s mini-camp.
Lawrence is the school’s most accurate kicker in school history in both field goals and extra points. His 46-yard field goal as time expired gave Texas the win over Nebraska in the Big 12 Conference championship game.
Tampa’s kicker is Connor Barth, who joined the team last November. He did well with the Bucs, hitting a 47-yard field goal in overtime to beat New Orleans. He’s been with three teams in his two seasons.

Frankly, I wish Mr. Lawrence had been drafted, but then again, UT free agents have had pretty good luck in making the 53-man cut - look at Quan Cosby, Derek Lokey, Lyle Sendlein, Phil Dawson, etc.

Great news and good for Hunter, bet he's around as long as Phil Dawson.
