NFL spokesman: Young test report wrong
A National Football League spokesman refuted widespread reports that former Texas quarteback Vince Young scored six out of a possible 50 points on the Wonderlic test, an intelligence exam given to pro prospects.
“The report that indicated that specific number is incorrect,” said Steve Alic, who helps coordinate media relations at the Indianapolis-based NFL combine. “The NFL doesn’t get those numbers until after the combine.”
National Football Scouting conducts the combine, a weeklong job fair/scouting session designed to give NFL clubs an up-close look at players expected to selected in the NFL draft.
Various media outlets reported that Young scored a six on the test, on which the average score is 20. Then reports circulated that Young took the test again and scored a 16. Alic said he could not confirm if there was a second test, only that the first reported score was inaccurate.
