Billboard taunts Southern Cal fans

The folks at Onepeat.com report that they have rented a billboard near the USC campus that taunts Trojans with the message:

SHOULDN’T DYNASTIES WIN MORE THAN ONE?

LSU ‘03 … USC ‘04 … TEXAS ‘05

Bevo Beat reported in January that an LSU fan in Dallas was organizing the Onepeat effort. LSU fans were irritated by the constant talk in December that Southern Cal was on the verge of winning three consecutive national championships. LSU fans liked to remind everyone that the Tigers won the BCS trophy in 2003 (while USC’s championship that year came via the Associated Press poll). USC won every championship in sight in 2004, while Texas did the same in 2005.

Good for them! Maybe Onepeat should also buy some time for a billboard near the ESPN headquarters and remind them what pieces of crap they are for even starting all this stuff about usc to begin with.

If I were a Texas fan, I would have been ready to take on any of those so called analysts and all their rubbish. I do not watch anything on espn anymore because of all the bias and bullsheet. Goes to show, espn knows nothing about sports or people in sports.

I don't care if LSU won the BCS trophy in 03, they weren't the best team in the country. USC was. And until the BCS unscrews itself permanently, we may not always get a head-to-head match like USC-Texas last season. They just happened to be the only 2 undefeated teams left. In 03, the bcs, in it's infinite wisdom, didn't match the teams up properly, and they'll do it again. But now a new dynasty has emerged, the Longhorn Dynasty. For years to come, the college football world will always be looking back over their shoulder, in fear of the approaching Thundering Heard. Hook em.

The guy is right. Every knowledgeable football analyst I know feels that LSU would have handily beaten USC in 2003. The AP vote that year reflects the typical West Coast press hoopla---they repeat themselves so many times that they begin to believe their own bull. As an example, they repeatedly said that Bush had an amazing game against "a tough Fresno State defense" and, that won him the Heisman.

Nobody stopped to notice that Fresno State's defense was fifth in the WAC---by far the weakest conference in football. I bet against that defense Vince would have had 800 yards if he'd played all 4 quarters. They were terrible on defense.

Much has been made of RPI and strength of schedule. Taking Texas's RPi, how much different would that score be if they had played one less game this basketball season. Of corse I mean against the Team with the highest RPI. I think it might have been Pan Am.?

A totally unnecessary and classless move. I found the USC fans to be quite gracious and
complementary of the horns. They are not
responsible for sportswriters, and I don't
blame them for accepting the writers good
opinion. Certainly our Cajun Bros would have
in spades if the roles were reversed.

There have been many discussions about LSU being forgotten in 2003 thanks to the Pete PR Machine. I wish I could see that billboard! Here's to LSU and UT! Geaux Horns.

this billboard idea is ignorant and i hope no longhorns had any part of it. lsu fans are idiots, and usc didn't do anything to offend texas.
