Saban: No comment on Ricky
INDIANAPOLIS — Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban spoke with reporters here at the NFL Combine on Thursday, and before the question was even asked, he told the group he could have no official comment regarding the status of former Longhorn running back Ricky Williams.
Williams is appealing whether a drug screen he recently took was positive for a banned substance.
“I can only say that we will do the same for him as we would do for any other player, relating to him being successful,” Saban said.
If the test results are upheld, it would be Williams’ fourth positive, meaning he would be suspended without pay for a year.
There is some speculation that the positive test result may have been due to a supplement Williams may have used to gain weight.
