Rumor control: Shipley staying put
Rumors have been circling regarding Jordan Shipley’s future with the Longhorns. The wide receiver from Burnet has been cursed by injury in his first two seasons in Austin, suffering season-ending injuries during fall drills two years in a row and requiring two knee surgeries.
Would all the frustration at UT prompt Shipley to head west to Texas Tech, which had been on his short list out of high school? Or perhaps he would go to Texas A&M to be reunited with high school friend and quarterback Stephen McGee?
Neither rumor is true, says Shipley’s father. Bob Shipley told Statesman reporter Rick Cantu that his son remains optimistic about his football future — as a Longhorn.
