Longhorns’ 25 recruits reportedly have all signed
Longhorn coaches won’t comment on their new recruits until late this afternoon, but Rivals.com recruiting watcher Geoff Ketchum reports that all 25 players who verbally committed to the Longhorns had signed with the school Wednesday morning.
Now the Longhorns are waiting for Jonas Mouton.
The defensive back from California, who is ranked as the 19th best player in the country on CSTV national recruiting expert Tom Lemming’s list of top 100 recruits, is planning on making his official announcement at 8:30 tonight.
He has narrowed his choices to Texas and Michigan.

Sorry Jim is such a naysayer here... some of the people, IN THE KNOW... have said this is a better class than the one VINCE came in on... So don't rain on the parade, until it NEEDS IT!
Hook'em and Cook'em!

Dude, you have fallen and bumped your head. Have you gone insane? This class will be ranked as high as 3rd, no lower than 6th. There are some excellent athletes in this class. Forget about the national title for 2006 recruiting, this class was put together long before the title game. Mouton was a last minute attempt to snag one last five star player, because he has ties to Austin. It was just too late in the game to get him, he was already sold on Michigan. The national title will have an effect on the class of 2007.

Let's not worry about one recruit. One man does
not make a team. It is all the effort of those
eleven people on the field.

I feel like Texas would'nt even be thinking about who is going to be quarterback this coming year, if Texas would have recruited Steven McGee like there was no tommorrow.Texas must have thought Vince was going to be here forever.

Calm down, its just a game. The negative comments here are from absolute idiots. The Longhorns and their coaches will excel with whomever comes to school here.

Anyone who thinks this year's class stinks is an idiot, and anyone who thinks we'll be going 7-4, 8-3 is absolutely incorrect. There's plenty of talent on the team, Vince didn't win the title by himself, there were more players playing, and a lot of them will be back this year. I expect Texas to defend their title this year!

Jim (see above) are you an Aggie fan??? Texas gets a top 10 class and you are saying that the class stinks?
They got some of the best players in high school and it isn't good enough. You sound like the fans who hated Mack Brown before he won it this year and claimed he was the greatest all along.
Keep in mind we are talking about 18 year olds here. We'll see what they do when they put on the pads.

WE HAVE THE BEST OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE COORDINATORS IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL. GREAT COACHING CAN MAKE GOOD PLAYERS BETTER, PERHAPS EVEN GREAT. LET'S GET THESE ATHLETES ON CAMPUS, BEAT OHIO STATE NEXT YEAR AND SEND OUR OWN MESSAGE TO MOUTON.

If Jonas Mouton is even thinking about going to Michigan then Mack ought to withdraw his offer. We don't need a player with such poor judgment.

This is a sad day, as the overall quality of this class absolutely stinks! It is far less than you would expect of an established program, a national champion, and a supposedly great recruiter.
There are no great QB's, RB's, Receivers, etc. A couuple of outstanding defensive players cannot salvage the Day.
Let's get ready for some seasons when we are glad to see 7-4 and 8-3.

We can not be complacent for any time . We must be looked upon as a national University like USC ,ND. We must get the best from Texas and then get the OSS playerswe need. ND declined because of poor coaching and poor recruiting,it has taken them a long time to come back .You can rest assured they will never again make the same mistake. Mack Brown needs to mentor his successor now.DKR must be involved.

I hope Jonas doesn't pull the same crap that boy did from Louisiana last year. These are two of the greatest institutions that have ever played college football and to have either one of them embarassed by a high school kid is unacceptable.
