The ticket is HOW much?

Round trip to Buenos Aires from Austin is $1,031. The globe-hop is scheduled for Oct. 29 to Nov. 15.

Same dates to Barcelona is $731.

Can anyone convince me of the beauty and glories of Argentina? I’ve been blathering about this hypothetical trip for months and still can’t muster the verve to actually commit. Am I just being namby-pamby?

I skipped my spring trip, pure heresy. I need to get out of here.

Hi Chris,

I studied abroad in Buenos Aires for 6 months and loved it. Once you get over the ticket price, it’s a very affordable place to vist. Several of my visitors rented apartments because it was more affordable than hotels. The city of Buenos Aires has a delicious mix of European flare and the provincialism that you’d find in the rest of the country. If you go you must: 1) dance the tango; 2) visit the ferias; 3) stay out all night at a disco; 4) eat pizza and gelato - large Italian influence; 4) catch a soccer game; 5) stroll the streets and absorb the architecture; 6) risk death in a taxi; and 7) practice your spanish with the Argentine accent. It’d also be worth it to check out Mendoza (wine country) or Bariloche (to ski or hike) while you’re down there. Hope that helps!
