Free fitness books, DVDs

I’ve got some stuff to give away. If you want any of the books or DVDs listed below, post on this blog, telling me which one you want and why you deserve it. Best answers win. Humor is good.

  • ”The Lure of Long Distances: Why We Run,” by Robin Harvie. The latest in a recent rash of books about runners, Harvie’s book tells the story of the author’s year-long preparation for the Sparthalon, a 152-mile non-stop run from Athens to Sparta.
  • ”Jari Love’s Get Extremely Ripped,” a DVD featuring two 30-minute heart-revving workouts.
  • ”Which Comes First, Cardio or Weights? Fitness Myths, Training Truths, and Other Surprising Discoveries from the Science of Exercise,” by Alex Hutchinson. A whole book full of exercise conundrums — from “Could stretching before exercise make me slower and weaker?” to “Is the elliptical machine just as good as running?” — answered.
  • ”Belly Beautiful Workout,” a DVD full of postnatal fitness and busy mom workouts.
  • ”Fit by Nature: The Adventx Twelve-Week Outdoor Fitness Program,” by John Colver with M. Nicole Nazzaro. Step-by-step instructions to a fitness program that will have you hoisting small logs, doing squats and running around pylons — all in the comfort of the great outdoors.

I would like the Fit by Nature as I have started to enjoy breaking away from the traditional gym going and getting back to functional fitness. Also I assist with a local bootcamp and I am assuming I can get some more / new ideas to help beat people up for fun

Cardio or weights sounds great to me. I do both and switch it up. My gym instructors all have different opinions. Who knows?

I would like “Which Comes First.” That sounds like a good one. I do both cardio and strength training at my gym, as well as running and cycling. All of the instructors have different opinions about this.

“Which Comes First, Cardio or Weights?” could help head off my way vs your way arguments with the husband, plus sounds like a very interesting read!

I would love Fit By Nature. My workout time in the park has become a mix of running, walking, breathing, bouncing, stretching, strengthening, lifting, lunging, resting, and gathering sticks and plants. Even eating some! I’d love some new inspiration and to share more!

I would love “Belly Beautiful Workout”! Am I am still considered postnatal when my daughter is 4 1/2? I mean technically, thats postnatal…right? HA! The busy Mom part is totally accurate though, while working full time. I am still holding on to 30 plus pounds since my daughter was born, just gave up a gym membership as we are building a new house and trying to save as much as possible, and beginning to plan for baby #2. This would be a great way to get some much needed excercise while our already busy life tbecomes busier. Plus, I could use this now and later, I mean with 2 kids, how could I not be a busy mom?!? Thanks for the consideration!

I would love “Belly Beautiful Workout”. Am I considered postnatal even though my daughter is 4 1/2? I mean that is still technically postnatal….right?? HA! The busy mom part, totally! But, what Mom isn’t? Seriously, I am still holding on to 30 pounds of weight I would love to lose. I just gave up my gym membership as we are saving all we can as we build our new house, I work full time, and we are thinking about baby #2. Before I become postnatal again, I would love to get some exercise at home that fits in well with our busy lifestyle. Plus this would be great to have after baby#2! If I think I am busy now….hold on! Thanks for the consideration!

”The Lure of Long Distances: Why We Run,” by Robin Harvie seems like an interesting book! With my background in road-races, including the Austin Marathon, I’m interested to see what this guy has to say about running long distances. Maybe even provide some encouragement for me to run longer than seven to eight miles!
