Last minute cycling gift idea

dontrunmeover.cut_.jpg

Here’s an excellent last-minute gift suggestion for your cycling buddies — a cycling jersey that says “Don’t Run Me Over.”

Or choose one that says “Slow Down” on the back and “Thanks” (in reverse) on the front. Also nice? One that says “3 Feet” on the back and “Thanks” on the front, or one that says (infiniti symbol) MPG.

Cool!

The jerseys sell for $59.95 on the Share the Damn Road website here. I like the website’s motto, too: “Fed up with Rude and Incompetent Motorists?”

No thanks. I’m the Queen of Self-righteous Bumper Stickers when I’m in my car, but as a cyclist I find most drivers are A-OK in my book, so the last thing I want to do is be bossy & rude to all of them when I’m on my bike. This will just make the drivers who already hate us feel more justified in their attitudes.

The jersey that gets me the most respect on the road is the good old stars & stripes. Even the biggest, baddest King Ranch F150s slow down for old glory and give me acres of space and a kind wave. Get one of those for any cyclist on your gift list.
