What’s your toughest workout?
Robert says my postings have been lame lately, that it’s time to pump ‘em up.
In Robert’s honor (I’m pretty sure he’s CO2 Creator who posts here sometimes, but he refuses to ‘fess up), I’d like everyone to tell me what they do when they want a really tough workout.
What class, what routine, what run, what bootcamp do you turn to when you feel the need to push your body to the limits? What’s the hardest workout around?
I’ve already gotten in my daily swim practice (thanks TeamTexas!), so I’m gonna just sit here at my computer and relax while y’all duke it out. And maybe go for an easy run later…
Robert, what’s your toughest workout? Eating enchiladas?

I Love Camp Gladiator….this bootcamp kicked my butt yesterday….it’s constant movement for an entire hour. Broken up by multiple drills (agility, cardio, strength training) for certain amounts of time as well as a good dose of healthy competitiveness. After 3 series of 10 pushups, 20 lateral jacks, 30 jumping lunges, 40 sexy spiders, 50 jumping jacks and 1 hard lap all for time (trying to beat your time each series)I thought I was going to pass out. Well that was only 15 minutes of the hour…. check it out they still have some free classes offered the rest of this week. campgladiator.com

An hour and a half of Racquetball games - that’s almost 1000 calories burned. And it doesn’t even feel like a workout because it’s so much fun!

The Austin Tri kicked my butt recently. I had to walk water stations for the first time. However the toughest “workout” I do is Jester hill repeats. Then the enchiladas ;-)

you are in a push-up position and you bring your knees out to your elbows one at a time.

ROWING. On the water or on the indoor rower. Nothing beats it. Strength, endurance, aerobic, all muscle groups. Everything. You can push yourself as hard as you want to.

I’m with Amy, Camp Gladiator is a kick-butt work-out and they are the first to admit it! They want you to do all you can and motivate you all the way — which is nice as after 10 minutes I’m ready to give-up. It’s hard, but I have fun doing it and the group is great!

A second endorsement for Camp Gladiator. Ally is one of the best in the business as I have never had my butt kicked like this since well…..ever. No matter your fitness level, goals, etc…there is something for you. It is a full hour of non-stop, high intensity cardio/strength/agility drills with “active rests” in between. Think hour long HIIT sessions w/ different excercises worked in i.e. hill sprints, super burpees, Johnny C’s (who coined the term?), etc… I always look like I jumped into a swimming pool after the sessions….I usually do that three days a week at 5:30 AM and mix in a day of hoops & maybe a trail run on my off days. Check out the bootcamp @ www.campgladiator.com

After I do my leg exercises at the gym…leg press, quads, hamstrings, calves, all to near muscle failure, I then go on a 45 minute hard run on the Barton Creek greenbelt. Very exhausting, but I’m seeing great results. I cannot emphasize enough how well the leg weight training has helped eliminate many of the overuse injuries that once kept me from running and cycling for so many years.

Urban Animal boot camp! It kicks my butt every time. I’ve been going 3x/week for over a year, and my muscles never get used to it. I come home drenched with sweat and exhausted but feeling great!

I- LOVE-CAMP-GALDIATOR! or at least that’s what we yell while doing jumping jacks at 5:30 in the parking lot of Austin high. I am a former endurance junkie who is now hooked on this boot camp. It kicks my butt, but in a good way. And its fun.. where else will you do sexy spiders and booty calls and be able to laugh will killing your shoulders with Johnny Cs. Seriously, we have relay races that involve crabwalking, frog jumping, bear crawling, and LOG ROLLING. No 2 workouts are the same, ever! Its serious fun for adults, and an awesome workout!

DUDE…Camp Gladiator-Best bootcamp ever! I’ve done some others in the past and this one has the best workouts. You never do the same workout twice, you’re pushing yourselves way further than you could expect and they have the two coolest instuctors on the face of the planet. SO stinkin fun and cheap. WOW! LOVE YOU CAMP GLADIATOR

I would like to offer another endorsement for Camp Gladiator. Ally and Ali come up with extremely creative ways for kicking your butt on a daily basis. It is a tremendous mix of cardio, running, strength training, and agility. In addition to this, they also encourage meeting fellow campers and having everyone be a source of motivation for each other. They frequently do relay races and other team events that make you nostalgic for your grade school days. It’s the most fun you will have while getting in great shape.

The ‘Blackout’ class at Pure (Town Lake) is insane, in a good way. Michael F is the instructor and he pushes you to the limit. It is held outside and is bootcamp style.
