Over on the American-Statesman’s Business Blog, Brian Gaar is reporting that Sony Online Entertainment has announced layoffs throughout its company.
205 jobs are affected, but the company won’t say if or how many Austin jobs are affected. The studio has about 150 staffers in Austin focused on games like “DC Universe Online.”
Game blogs this morning posted about layoff rumors at the company based on Tweets from industry employees. Sony confirmed in a statement that it is restructuring its online properties and shutting down three of its studios.
