Brian Gaar has been a newspaper reporter and editor for more than a decade. But his secret passion is standup comedy, dating back to 2003, when he first performed at a Waco college bar. He 'killed,' which is comedy slang for, 'He tried to do 20 minutes and his sister had to shout down a heckler.'
Brian hosts a weekly comedy showcase,
'It's Always Funny with Brian Gaar,' at the Velveeta Room in downtown Austin.
