Honey, I bought a brewhouse
Jordan Weeks of South Austin Brewing, having already secured a warehouse in what was formerly a manufacturer of hotel furniture, just went to Pottstown, Pa. and bought a 30-barrel NSI system. It’s about 10 years old. The brewer in Pottstown had to sell it because he’s shifting from a brewery to a brew pub with ceilings too low to hold the brewhouse.
Given that new systems run more than a third of a million dollars, Weeks’ wife, Jodie Segar, should thank him for getting a deal. Weeks plans to travel east again to oversee the loading of the stainless beast, and it should be in its new home around the end of the month.
