Summer beer/makes me feel fine/
…blowin’ through the barley in my my-yi-yind. (They teach you in beer journalism school never to pass an opportunity to make a Seals & Croft reference, however lame or forced.)
Anyway. Debbie “Snax” Cerda of Black Star Co-Op is hosting her first beer tasting at the Ginger Man from 3-5:30 p.m. Saturday, which is tomorrow. For $25 you get “five rounds of two beers going head to head. It includes lagers, session beers (lawnmower and a summer ale), German pilsner, wheat with fruit, Bohemian pilsener,” she writes. “…There will be a pop quiz at the end, where prizes are awarded (beer swag). We’ll also have some snacks to clear our palates.”
There also will be a bonus beer, one seen slightly less frequently than Bigfoot (the beast, not the barley wine from Sierra Nevada), especially in these here parts.
My house, I mean the Ginger Man, is located at 301 Lavaca St.
Remember, it’s hot and not the good kind of hot. You’ve got to hydrate and beer is mostly water.
