All clear at Cedar Park's Knowles Elementary

All is clear at Knowles Elementary in Cedar Park after a suspicious package found on the school playground turned out to be food in a Tupperware container, Leander school district spokeswoman Veronica Sopher said.

The school was briefly on lockdown this afternoon while law enforcement officials conducted a routine check after the container was discovered.

District: No threat at Stony Point campus

Stony Point High School’s campus is calm after a morning call from police had the campus briefly on lockdown.

JoyLynn Occhiuzzi, a Round Rock school district spokeswoman, said the district got word from the Round Rock Police Department around 8 a.m. that the safety of a Stony Point student might have been compromised.

All classes were moved into the school’s main building, where they will remain for the rest of the day, while police looked into the potential threat, Occhiuzzi said.

Now police say there’s no specific threat to the campus or that student, she said, but officials are still looking into the situation. Occhiuzzi said the campus is no longer on lockdown but that it remains on heightened alert.

“Things are calm at the campus,” Occhiuzzi said.
