Police find 21 eight-liner machines in 2 Killeen businesses

FROM THE KILLEEN POLICE DEPARTMENT:

The Killeen Police Department has received numerous complaints about illegal gambling occurring in the downtown district. Officers assigned to the Northside Precinct Downtown Unit have been actively investigating these complaints. On Monday, November 29, 2010, these officers located two illegal gambling establishments at 330 East Ave D # B and 334 East Ave D. An investigation revealed that the businesses at these two locations were not operating legitimately and were fronts for illegal gambling. Search warrants for the two establishments were obtained and a total of twenty one 8 liner machines, cash and other miscellaneous items were recovered in the two businesses.

55 year old Jong Sook Farris of Copperas Cove was arrested for Gambling Promotion (a class A misdemeanor) at 330 E. Ave D #B.

Further arrests are pending as these cases continue to be investigated.
