The gang in the van
Although my perspective isn’t exactly an outsider’s, I can vouch for the fact that the rumpled gang of three emerging from the Personals van Monday evening looked like happy rockers indeed. What a sight for sore eyes—to see my bandmates and Toby roll into my friend’s driveway in Nashville! The group’s high energy level, huge smiles, mile-a-minute stories, and suitcases full of dirty clothes attested to their successful adventures across several states. I was only sorry I couldn’t have been along for the ride! But I’m so glad that I felt OK enough to fly to Nashville and introduce them to my friends there, and rock out at their show at The 5 Spot. I was the chick in the crowd who knew all of the words to the songs and was beaming proudly at the road-weary but still rockin’ band of Austinites.
OK. I’m going back to doing nothing, as means of recuperating—I’m willing my abdomen to heal enough to let me play at Friday’s show at Trophy’s. Adios.
