Green Bay rules!

Oh my god, we had the most insane day in Green Bay yesterday! We went to Lambau Field, where the Packers play, and to the Green Bay Packer Museum and Hall of Fame. It ruled! (I kept waiting for Adam to cry.) The merch there was unreal — Packer masks, Packer bikinis, Packer lamps, Packer feather boas. Feather boas!!! Then we went to a freaking Ponderosa restaurant, since Toby and I had never been to one. We are still recovering. The food was unspeakable, although we’ll be laughing about our “steaks” for years to come. Our waitress told Toby she saw him on the street a few days before. We were all, “No you didn’t.” And Toby said, “I know what it was. I heard Brad Pitt is filming a movie in town.” That was the tip of the iceberg of an amzing conversation. Toby went on to tell her we’re in a rock band and invited her to the show at the Wheels ‘N Motion Skating Rink. She said, “I thought that place was closed! No one goes there.” We burst out laughing, because we were already a bit nervous about what it would be like to play an early, all-ages, punk show in Green Bay. Well, it totally ruled!!! There were 200 people there over the course of the night and the ones who were there for our part of the show totally loved it. There are 14-year-olds running around Green Bay with mohawks and Personals shirts as we speak.

Also, I got to skate to “Thriller” and “Hell’s Bells” and a kid who could not have been older than 13 sent his friend to ask me to “go out with him.” Heh! Also, we went to a casino for an hour because we had time to kill. It was an Indian casino full of your usual casino folk. But our minds were blown to see that tons of bands play there. This summer they were expecting Soul Asylum, Devo, Elvis Costello, Dale Watson, the Go-Gos, and a bunch more. Of course, Carrie Underwood was the only one sold out!

OK, time to eat some Chicago pizza with my husband and my band. Life is good!
