‘True Grit’ release date moved

Christmas will come early for movie lovers, as Paramount has pulled the Coen brothers’ “True Grit” forward three days, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Originally slated to hit theaters on Christmas day, the movie starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon will now open on December 22, a Wednesday for those of you without a calendar handy.

The move to Wednesday will give Paramount and the Coens a bigger opening week take, and will also put the film up against fellow December 22 releases “Little Fockers” and “Gulliver’s Travels.”
