AFS: Essential Cinema with Wyler

The Austin Film Society will be screening the films of director William Wyler in its Essential Cinema series that begins Oct. 19.

‘Counsellor at Law,’ starring John Barrymore and Melvyn Douglas, kicks off the series, followed by Bette Davis in ‘Jezebel’ on Oct. 26, Greer Garson in ‘Mrs. Miniver’ on Nov. 2, Olivia de Havilland and Montgomery Clift in ‘The Heiress’ on Nov. 9 and Humphrey Bogart in ‘The Desperate Hours’ on Nov. 16.

Admission is free for members of AFS and $6 for non-members. Tickets available at www.austinfilm.org. All screenings will be at the Alamo South, 1120 S. Lamar Blvd.
