Fans get buried for ‘Buried’
Rodrigo Cortés’s horror thriller film “Buried,” starring Ryan Reynolds plays at the Paramount Theatre on Thursday night at 10 p.m. In true Fantastic Fest spirit, last Saturday, the festival organizers grabbed four Ryan Reynolds fans, blindfolded them and took them 30 minutes outside of town, where they were buried in coffins and watched the film on video screens from inside the coffins. I almost fainted just typing that.
As someone with claustrophobia, I would be freaked out just by watching the video below with no context. As someone who saw the movie yesterday (it’s very good, by the way), I can’t even imagine the fear and terror these women faced. From what I’ve been told, all composed themselves rather well.
The good news for the brave volunteers, they get to meet Reynolds at the screening tomorrow night, tickets for which are still available to the general public.
