IFC Midnight brings Fantastic Fest into your living room
Did you know that IFC had its own genre label? Well, it does. And it’s called IFC Midnight.
As its sister (mother?) station did with SXSW, Midnight plans to offer a handful of Fantastic Fest films via video on demand later this month. The slate of films includes “Heartless” (dir. Philip Ridley) “High Lane” (dir. Abel Ferry), “Primal” (dir. Josh Reed) and “Red White and Blue” (dir. Simon Rumley).
“We’re very excited to be a part of this new on demand partnership with IFC Midnight,” Fantastic Fest co-found Tim League said in a statement. “As a long term friend of Fantastic Fest, IFC Films has an excellent eye for acquiring the very best of genre entertainment and distributing them to viewers in unique and innovative ways. Their new IFC Midnight label is the perfect partner for Fantastic Fest.”
In addition to films playing at this year’s fest, IFC Midnight will also offer VOD screenings of 2009 entries “The Good the Bad the Weird,” “Doghouse” and the wildly popular and disturbing “The Human Centipede.”
