Fantastic Fest announced new round of screenings
Fantastic Fest announced a new round of movies to its lineup.
The big news is a gala premiere screening for “Stone” Sept. 24 at The Paramount Theatre with Edward Norton, director John Curran and more in attendance. “Stone,” the story of a corrections officer and a violent inmate, also stars Robert DeNiro and Milla Jovovich, who, as you might imagine, is the woman both Norton and DeNiro love.
Other featured screenings include the world premiere of “30 Days of Night: Dark Days,” the sequel to the movie adaptation of the smash hit comic book series. Director Ben Ketai and co-writers Kiele Sanchez & Steve Niles are slated for appearances. I bet Niles would find it cool if you showed up with this LP to be signed. (Niles is third from the left; the record is excellent.)
Also check out the Argentinian thriller “Carancho,” former “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” co-stars Amber Bensen and Adam Busch’s comedy “Drones” (both will be here), the U.S. premiere of the new Hong Kong actioner “Fire of Conscience” from director Dante Lam, the totally bonkers 1960 Korean film “The Housemaid” along with its 2010 remake, a remake of the 1978 exploitation quasi-classic “I Spit Oon Your Grave,” martial arts insanity in “Ong Bak 3,” and, of course, “Hatchet 2.”
The shindig takes place Sept. 23 to 30. Check out Fantastic Fest’s website for the full list.
