‘Buried’ coming to Fantastic Fest
The opening night of Fantastic Fest just got a bit bigger, with today’s announcement that Ryan Reynolds and director Rodrigo Cortes will attend a gala screening of “Buried” at the Paramount on Sept. 23.
“Let Me In,” the new thriller remake of the acclaimed Swedish film “Let the Right One In,” also will be screening at the Paramount on opening night, as announced earlier this month.
In “Buried,” Reynolds stars as a truck driver who wakes up six feet underground with no idea of how he ended up buried, or why. The movie focuses on the man’s attempts to free himself and discover his location, with only a cell phone and a lighter.
“Buried” will also screen the weekend before Sept. 23 as part of the “Rolling Roadshow” series. In a bizarre twist, four people will be buried at an undisclosed location for the Rolling Roadshow, with their coffins apparently rigged up to show the movie for them.
